Pear is a fairly common savoury ingredient these days, particularly in salad. However, I was a tad skeptical when I saw a recipe for pear and proscuitto pizza.
I try to live "dangerously" and will give most things a try, and given the success we've had with other pizzas from Theo's book (Theo & Co), I figured it was worth a try.
The uncooked pizza looked a little funny - I guess we didn't do the best job making the pizza dough into a circle, nor laying out the pear slices in a particularly attractive manner.
Once cooked, the pizza was still obviously misshapen, but caramelised and crispy and, most importantly, delicious looking - and tasting!

Smoked salmon pizza
My first pizza from Theo's book involved giving the dough hook on the kitchen aid a bit of a work out.
We followed Theo's steps, used good quality cheese and delicious smoked salmon and this came out of the oven:

Left over lamb pizza
Theo has a pizza recipe for greek lamb pizza, and while I was inspired by it, I didn't follow it because:
1. we had already cooked the lamb
2. we didn't have all of the pizza ingredients.

Pizza Pizza Pizza
I heard about Theo on an episode of 9am with David and Kim and knew I had to buy the book - even though I had never made dough before (pre-Cheesymite scrolls obviously).
It's a beautiful book
with step-by-step photos (my favourite)
with savoury
and sweet pizzas
